Fun fact: Italian has a verb for “landing on the moon”, namely allunare, and a noun describing the act of landing on the moon, allunaggio. Both terms were coined in 1959 on the model of atterrare, to land, and atterraggio, landing.
Well, Spanish has the verb “alunizar” and the noun is “alunizaje.” Based on “aterrizar,” to land, and “aterrizaje,” landing. ;)
Romance languages unite 💪
same in French! atterrir - to land (on earth) and alunir - to land (on the moon)
Portuguese - alunissar
